Dear Club Members,

As the new year of football is about to commence, we would like to update you on all the work that has been going on behind the scenes over the winter months and our plans for the coming season.

During recent years the numbers of juveniles at the club both boys and girls have grown substantially, due to tremendous work done by volunteers of the club, but also by the great support of all parents involved. We have also had great success at higher age groups in recent years where we have joined with our close neighbours in Ardcath St Vincents. Although this has been necessary at older age groups to ensure our members are able to play at the highest level possible, the club executive have decided that it would now be beneficial to extend this agreement to our younger age groups also. We are delighted to confirm that this has been approved by both the GAA and LGFA Meath County Boards, so for the coming season we will be joining all underage teams from U9s to U20s. The Nursery and U7s will remain as Curraha only. This will apply to both boys and girls teams.

This will mean that we will now be in a position to field boys only teams, and girls only teams, for the first time from U9s up. This is an especially great accomplishment for the ladies as in the space of few short years we now have teams under 5 different age groups.

Training will commence for some age groups from Thursday 2nd March so it is important that we get revised ClubZap groups set up as soon as possible. Below are the list of teams children will be a member of based on their year of birth. We would encourage everyone to send a request to join the appropriate group as soon as possible please. As you can appreciate the increased number of teams will put additional pressure on an already limited resources so we have attached the training times and locations for each team to help you plan your week. T he older groups each team will now train one night in Ardcath and one night in Curraha. We appreciate the extra pressure this will put on parents but would encourage you to share lifts where possible to alleviate some of the additional travel.

If anyone would like to get involved at a juvenile level we are always on the lookout for coaches, pitch personnel or administrators so please feel free to contact any committee member.

Lastly you will see on ClubZap that the Grand Draw is back for 2023. We would encourage any parents that are able to support this to please do so, as all proceeds will go directly to developing the club facilities in the future for all members.

If you have any questions on any of the above, both Madeline and Paddy will be available in the clubhouse from 7.00 to 7.30 on Thursday 23th February, or alternatively please don’t hesitate to contact us directly on the numbers below.
