Curraha 0-21 Boardsmill 2-10.

Curraha got their Premier Championship campaign underway on a very hot evening in Curraha, with Boardsmill providing the opposition.

It was the visitors who got off to a flyer with a goal inside the opening two minutes, but the hosts settled into it and dominated most of the play in the opening half. Curraha responded well and came back into the game with a few scores of their own, including a couple of long range efforts from Ruairí O'Sullivan. A second goal for the visitors after the water break prevented the hosts from pulling away, and the score was tied at half time at 0-10 to 2-04.

The second half saw Curraha gain a foothold at centre-field and this gave them the platform to push on and win the game. There was a number of fine scores, with no less than 11 Curraha players hitting the target. Matthew Brennan produced a couple of outstanding late saves to ensure there was no chance of a Boardsmill comeback, and the Ha ran out 5 point winners at full time.
