A strong first half proved decisive as the Curraha/St.Vincents side secured a 4-7 to 2-5 win in Ardcath.

After an early exchange of scores, the team took control, hitting 2-6 before the break. Emily Keogh led the way with 2-3, well supported by Eabha McEntee (0-2). Despite striking the post three times, they held a 2-6 to 1-1 half-time lead after a late Wolfe Tones goal, and a point for the hosts from Lucy Jo McMahon.

The defence was outstanding throughout. Grace O’Reilly impressed, while Emma O’Brien made several key saves. They were backed up by Emma O’Connor, Aisling McMahon, Holly Mahon, Maria Dardis, and Allanah Harford in a great defensive display.

A goal from Keogh early in the second half extended the lead, but Wolfe Tones responded with 1-3 without reply as fatigue and injuries took hold. With Kirstie Green and later Keogh forced off the team had to dig deep to stay in front.

Late points from Aine O’Connor and Keelin Hetherton steadied things before O’Connor finished the game with a well-taken goal to seal the win.

A resilient performance, built on a strong first half and a committed defensive display.  Well done to all involved
